Services & ProgramsOur services are best-suited for families and individuals one year to many years post-event, once the body has stabilized and traditional therapies may have concluded (although some may choose to attend our programs while receiving other therapies). The most valuable outcome of our services is increased participation in life. “The Center has given up back our lives. The people there are the best. For anyone with aphasia, this is the place to be.” Living Well with Aphasia Course offers caregivers, friends, families and people with aphasia practical ways to lessen the daily frustration of aphasia, plus information about what to expect for the future. The month-long course costs $350* including lunches for two each week and all resource materials. Call for dates. Community Classes offer activities such as conversation groups, computer lab, gardening, fine art, book club and more – all within an adaptive environment specifically designed for people with aphasia. “Home is boring. Center is exciting.” Because we offer a variety of options each day, people from our surrounding communities can participate as readily as people in the Midland/Odessa area. Community Classes cost $100*/per month regardless of the number of classes attended. Lunch is provided for $4.25 a day, or members are welcome to bring their own. “The collaboration has provided my patients and families the support and confidence in returning to a productive lifestyle.” *Sliding fees and scholarships are available. |
